a. There seems to be a confession (vs 7a, c)
b. They appeal on God’s name (vs 7b, 9c)
c. They exalt God’s power (vs 8a)
d. They dishonor God with their questioning (vs 8b-9a)
What’s missing?
Genuine repentance (Psa. 51:17, 34:18: Isa. 66:1-2; 2 Chron. 7:14)
3. The Rejection and Judgment (14: 10-16)
God’s response is …
a. Different – discipline (vs 10; Heb 12:6, Prov 3:12)
b. Rejection of religious ‘doings’ (vs 11-12a; Amos 5:21-22)
c. God declares judgment (vs 12b)
Concluding Thoughts:
o God hates hypocrisy; God loves a genuine heart!
